The Turn Of The Screw by Henry James
Synopsis:
This is a Gothic Horror Novella. It follows a governess who is caring for two children, Miles and Flora at a remote country house, and becomes convinced that they are haunted. She begins seeing apparitions that she believes are the ghosts of two former servants, Peter Quint and Miss Jessel.
Review:
I enjoyed this book and found it to be very suspenseful and spooky.
“Of course I was under the spell, and the wonderful part is that, even at the time, I perfectly knew I was.”
“The story had held us, round the fire, sufficiently breathless, but except the obvious remark that it was Christmas Eve, in an old house, a strange tale should essentially be.”
